IVF helps in achieving pregnancy by fertilizing the woman’s eggs (oocytes) outside her body. The oocytes are obtained under mild anaesthesia through the vagina using transvaginal ultrasound.
The semen sample obtained from the partner is processed in order to obtain the most healthy sperm. The eggs and sperm are incubated together.
Next day, the oocyte is checked for fertilization. The embryos are ready for transfer subsequently in the next 3-5 days.
